Today was LA TECH Fan Day! My kids are always looking for an excuse to wear the cheerleading uniform and football jersey! We met all of the football, soccer, basketball players and I'm sure I left some out! We also met the Danceline and Cheerleaders! We had pictures taken and even got autographs! Myles was more into the jumpy castle but Sydney was all about getting autographs. It was fun and definitely the highlight in Ruston today! We saw lots of people there!

Sydney's 1st day of 1st grade
What an exciting day! We survived the first day of first grade for Sydney! She loves her new teacher, Ms. Garrett, and had a wonderful time! She did not seem nervous or overly anxious at all. One good thing about AE Phillips is that we dont have to wonder who is going to be in her class, or if she will have any friends in the class with her! Same sweet group as last year! We are so lucky to have a class of sweet girls and boys that come from good families! I couldn't ask for a better group of classmates and friends for her! So blessed in this way!

Sweet Myles
Every night before bed we read to the children. Both of the children love to read and be read to. Sydney began reading last year so it's not such a big deal to her anymore. Myles on the other hand loves books. After we read at night, he takes the book to bed with him, may look at the pictures and retell the story (in his own words) and then falls asleep with the book. Most kids love to sleep with a stuffed animal or special toy but not my sweet boy- he loves to sleep with a book! How sweet is that! I just hope he always has this same love for reading!
RHS Cheer Clinic
Last week Ruston High School Cheerleaders hosted a cheer clinic. Sydney had just finished cheer camp at the church the week before. Several of the same cheerleaders were in charge so Syd had an advantage! She already knew most of the cheers! I couldn't get over how much she improved in those 2 weeks! Her moves got sharper and her jumps were higher! It was fun to watch! She cheered so much around the house that Myles also learned the cheers!
Sydney was so excited because her cousin ,Chelsea, is a RHS cheerleader and was the leader of her group. Poor Chelsea, I'm certain Sydney hung on her all day long!
On Friday they had a performance - cheers and a dance. I was very proud of her!
Sportscamp TBC
Sydney had anxiously awaited the day to be old enough to go to Sportscamp at our church! This year she's finally old enough! Ofcourse, she choose cheerleading as her sport. She loved the youth leaders and lots of her friends from school came along. On Thursday, they traveled around to the other sports (soccer, football, basketball) and cheered for the teams. She had several boys from her class that were playing football - she loved it!
She wore her LA Tech uniform on Thursday so Myles thought he needed to wear his shirt that day too!
Florida 2009
I can not begin to tell you how much we enjoyed our trip to the beach this summer. The kids are finally the perfect ages to somewhat entertain themselves and just enjoy playing on the beach! We built sand castles, buried each other in the sand, and ofcourse, the boogie boards were a favorite! All 3 of the kids LOVED the boogie boards. Myles would strap his on his wrist and ride the waves - NO FEAR in that child. He may fall off and go under but would get up for the next round everytime! Sydney was so into it- she had a really loose tooth - one wave knocked her off the board, drug her into shore (kinda beat her up a little), and knocked out her tooth! No, we didn't find it. Yes, the tooth fairy came! We figured that she would loose it that week so we took the Tooth Fairy pillow with us - it just didnt have a tooth in it!
Tedd and Francis went deep sea fishing one day. Boy did they have a good time! Ha! I am including some pics of their catch!
The kids didnt get a nap during the day so by the time we came in after dinner at night - they crashed. They were wonderful this week!
I am sad that I didnt get very many good pictures - I have better ones posted on facebook! I didnt take my camera to the beach - we took moms - and she has tagged me on facebook in lots of pictures on the beach. Sorry! There are some really cute ones from the boogie boards!
VBS Week
Everyone had a wonderful time at Vacation Bible School. Taylor came this week for her summer stay! Everyone was so glad to see her! So glad she got to come this week and be a part of Vacation Bible School. Myles even enjoyed the week - he felt like such a "Big Boy" because he was able to do what the big girls were doing. I got smart this year and helped with Preschool snacks. We prepared some very cool themed snacks. I decided since I teach all year I didnt want to be responsible for a class this year. We had a good time and I will be doing snacks again next year! I am posting some pics from the VBS musical. Sydney was very dramatic that night! HA! Very out of character for her in front of a large group! It was hilarious!
