Visit to the Shane and Jamie's in Texas

Last Saturday we went to Texarkana for Jamie's baby shower. The kids were great travelers - always helps! They were excited about seeing their cousin Chloe. We went out to eat on Saturday night and caught up. Then Sunday was the baby shower. Jamie got lots of great gifts. The baby will be outfitted for a while. Shane and Jamie are lots of fun to be with. We always have a good time together. I didn't get any really good pictures but we all think that Myles and Chloe favor so much and there is no blood relation. Chloe is very petite - she is 3 1/2 and Myles is 2 1/2. Myles is a little bigger than her. Look at the resemblence in the pictures.

Tedd didn't get to make the trip with us b/c he's the coordinator of referees for Upward Basketball and this was the first weekend. (Like he needs something else to do in his spare time) We had a 2 bedroom suite with my Mom and Francis. Did I mention that you DON'T want to ever stay with us in a hotel room. For some reason Myles gets so wound up when we stay in a hotel. Sydney passed out by 9:30 not my little energizer bunny. He didn't stop going until almost midnight. I tried everything - EVERYTHING! GG finally had enough, took over, and WON! He is all boy and acts just like his daddy.

Dr. Appt.

The tube in Myles right ear worked it's way out sometime between Thanksgiving and before Christmas. My first Monday off for Christmas break I was at the Doctor with Myles. He indeed had an ear infection. She put us on an antibiotic for 10 days to see if it would completely heal before we decided where to go from there. We went back for our follow up today and it was completely healed!!! No sign of infection. We have already had 2 sets of tubes and hopefully won't have to make it 3!

Independence Bowl

We had a wonderful time at the Independence Bowl. We went with Meredith and Ron. We left about 1:30 and ate at Superior in Shreveport. After eating we headed to the game and tailgated for a while before the hike to the our seats! It was cold that night but we had blankets and were prepared. I will say I wasn't as prepared as Meredith - she 4 layers on top and pajama pants under her jeans! She was toasty! We were pretty crammed in our seats so they kept us warm also. I was so thankful we didn't take the kids. There were several children around us and they were miserable. It was a great game and we won!! GO DAWGS! I'm not sure who had more fun me and Meredith or Tedd and Ron???

At the park

These are just a few snapshots taken of the kids at the park thanks to our wonderful babysitter! This was on Sunday afternoon - we left around 1:30 to go to the Independence Bowl. Lauren babysat and was with the kids ALL day and until almost 1:00 am. She's so sweet and we were lucky to have her for the day.

Christmas Day

Myles showing off his new tennis shoes!

I was shocked to be awakened by Sydney around 8:00 in the morning saying "Mommy, wake up Santa came!" We must have been tired. We all went to Myles room and had to wake him up. He got up at a very slow pace but was excited when he came in the living room and saw he had more presents to open! Santa brought him a large remote control dinosaur that he was excited about - check out the look on his face in the picture. Sydney was most excited over her American girl doll and the matching pajamas for her to wear. We played for a while on Christmas morning and then drove to Jackson and spent the night with our friends yes on Christmas night. Bless their hearts, they didn't know what they were getting themselves into! They don't have children yet and the last time we stayed with them we only had Sydney but they got the pleasure of being around Myles and all of his energy! HA! They were very well behaved we even took them to eat at Ichiban Hibatchi Grill(the only place opened on Christmas night). We didn't get to bed until late that night. Tedd had to pick Taylor up from the airport bright and early the next morning. It was so early that when they got back to Scott and Judy's house the kids were still asleep. We got everyone up and dressed and headed out to shop a little. Can't go to Jackson without hitting a mall or 2! We headed home mid afternoon b/c Taylor still had presents to open and see what Santa brought her.

Christmas Eve Evening

Myles dumped his reindeer food all in 1 spot.
Sydney (the rule follower) took her time spreading it all around.

We have a candlelight service at church on the evening of Christmas Eve. The children always look forward to singing Christmas songs and lighting candles in church. They do not provide a nursery for this service so I am always anxious to see how Myles will react. He did fine - Tedd only had to leave 1 time with him and he got to come back for the candle lighting. He only embarrassed us a couple of times. One time a song just ended and it was very quiet (before the prayer) Myles says very loudly "It's Over!" Ofcourse everyone within 3 or 4 rows of us was laughing. When he came back in Tedd made him put his finger over his lip so you'll see this in the picture - so funny! After church we drove to Quitman to spend some time with my Grandmother (my dad's mom) and family. It's always nice to see them b/c we don't get to very often. We remembered that we didn't have cookies for Santa so Sydney stocked up before we came home! When we got home we quickly put out the reindeer food, posed for a couple of pictures in our Christmas pajamas, and off to bed so Santa could come!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was a very eventful day for us. We began the day at home exchanging gifts with each other. Myles loved the opening part. He didn't care who the present was for or what was inside - he just wanted to help open. After playing for a while we went to my mom's house for lunch and to exchange gifts with the family. Sydney, Jalyn and Myles had a time playing with all of their new toys. Jase will be in the mix next year. That's good for Myles because for now - he's the dress up toy to the girls. They love to put make up on him and he goes along with it. We had a fun day and a long evening to follow.
