More b-day pics

I have an album on facebook so check it out if you want to see more pics.

Myles' 3rd bday party

Today was Myles' 3rd birthday! We celebrated with a Thomas the Train party. He had lots of friends from school and church join in the celebration. We set up his new train set on a big table top for the kids to enjoy. We also had a train made of barrels that pulls behind a 4 wheeler. It was lots of fun!

I can't believe that it was 3 years ago that he was brought into this world. We had such a rough first two years. He wasn't the perfect easy baby! He was colicky from the time he was born topped off with acid reflux. Then he kept an ear infection or both ears infected until we got tubes at 9 months. After that surgery we stayed sick still. Staff infection in the adnoids and nonworking tubes had to be taken out and redone. Needless to say he always woke up multiple times during the night until the 2nd set of tubes put in and adnoids removed at 21 months. It made for a long sleepless 2 years. He sure has made up for all of those sleepless nights!

Myles has grown into such a sweet, kind hearted little boy! He is so laid back and easy going. It's amazing to watch him grow and learn so much! His brain is definitely a little sponge soaking up all that he can handle. He is full of energy and life! Such a joy to have around.

Roxie - the new Yorkie

Several of you have been asking to see pics of Roxie - our new Yorkie. Let me just say she is nothing like Hank. He was calm, tiny, and relaxed. Roxie is a little bigger, hyper, and goes non stop. Her personality probably fits better with my children! I was always worried that Hank would get hurt (by Myles) because he was so small and let's face it - Myles is all boy.

She is a good dog and likes to cuddle at night. She refuses to be still long enough for us to take her picture. This is the best that I can do.
She is about 5 months old now and about 3.5 pounds. She is in need of a good grooming!

March- "The sickly month"

Sorry I wasn't good about updating the blog in the month of March. I think we had 1 week during the entire month that we didn't have anybody sick. Myles had a stomach virus, followed by 1 well day and then another virus that he ran fever off and on for about 6 days. Sydney caught the later virus and was sick for about a week. We had a couple of well days. The last week in March the kids and I all had strep. No fun! Oh did I mention Tedd was out of town while we had strep.

I can not miss anymore school - I have 0 days that I can take off. Pray that we stay well!!!

Night out with friends!

Tedd and I ran in the 5K at Lincoln Parish Park Saturday morning. We didn't realize it was a trail run until we got there that morning. It was the hardest race I'd ever run. I hadn't trained at all or even been running consistently for that matter. Tedd hasn't run consistently since he got out of the Marine Corps 8 years ago! We had a bet about who would win. Ofcourse, I beat him! He may be bigger and stronger than me BUT he has never beat me in a long distance race!

I was so proud of him for running and finishing! It was a really hilly and unsteady course. I hated every minute of it! It did inspire me to get back into running several times a week though! I love running it's just so hard to find the time with 2 little ones.

We treated our selves to a night out with friends that evening. We went to eat at Portico and hung out. We had 2 college students come over to Amy and Brett's and keep all 5 kids! Sydney is a big help with the little ones although she thought she was as big as Maggie and Sloan (the babysitters). When we got home around 10:00 they were on a pallet watching High School Musical and belting out the words! It was cute! I promise I don't let my children stay up that late very often but it was a needed night out and kind of last minute!

Circus

The children had great fun at the circus! Sydney and Myles rode the elephant before the circus started. I myself was a little disappointed that the only animals in the circus were the elephants, ponies, singing pigs, and maybe 1 other animal. No lions or tigers this year or no monkey tricks. No motorcyle on the high wire or in the cage. They didn't even shoot the clown out of the cannon. It was mostly acrobats and girls hula hooping 15 hula hoops. Ok, maybe you consider that a great talent and interesting to watch BUT I lost interest rather quickly. Yes, they can do this on each arm, leg, and neck BUT... Anyway, the kids didn't know any better and loved every minute of it! I'm sure we'll be back next year regardless!

Live from Broadway - HAIRSRAY

I can remember watching Hairspray as a little girl -it was a favorite of mine. We had the opportunity to see the Live Broadway performance in Monroe. Sydney loves musicals now thanks to High School Musical. I knew that this was an opportunity that we couldn't pass on.

It was phenominal. I don't think we talked at all. After the performance some of the cast members came out for pics. Sydney was able to get their autographs! She thought that was COOL! We will go again if something else like this comes to the area.
