Sportscamp TBC

Sydney had anxiously awaited the day to be old enough to go to Sportscamp at our church! This year she's finally old enough! Ofcourse, she choose cheerleading as her sport. She loved the youth leaders and lots of her friends from school came along. On Thursday, they traveled around to the other sports (soccer, football, basketball) and cheered for the teams. She had several boys from her class that were playing football - she loved it!

She wore her LA Tech uniform on Thursday so Myles thought he needed to wear his shirt that day too!

Florida 2009

I can not begin to tell you how much we enjoyed our trip to the beach this summer. The kids are finally the perfect ages to somewhat entertain themselves and just enjoy playing on the beach! We built sand castles, buried each other in the sand, and ofcourse, the boogie boards were a favorite! All 3 of the kids LOVED the boogie boards. Myles would strap his on his wrist and ride the waves - NO FEAR in that child. He may fall off and go under but would get up for the next round everytime! Sydney was so into it- she had a really loose tooth - one wave knocked her off the board, drug her into shore (kinda beat her up a little), and knocked out her tooth! No, we didn't find it. Yes, the tooth fairy came! We figured that she would loose it that week so we took the Tooth Fairy pillow with us - it just didnt have a tooth in it!

Tedd and Francis went deep sea fishing one day. Boy did they have a good time! Ha! I am including some pics of their catch!

The kids didnt get a nap during the day so by the time we came in after dinner at night - they crashed. They were wonderful this week!

I am sad that I didnt get very many good pictures - I have better ones posted on facebook! I didnt take my camera to the beach - we took moms - and she has tagged me on facebook in lots of pictures on the beach. Sorry! There are some really cute ones from the boogie boards!

VBS Week

Everyone had a wonderful time at Vacation Bible School. Taylor came this week for her summer stay! Everyone was so glad to see her! So glad she got to come this week and be a part of Vacation Bible School. Myles even enjoyed the week - he felt like such a "Big Boy" because he was able to do what the big girls were doing. I got smart this year and helped with Preschool snacks. We prepared some very cool themed snacks. I decided since I teach all year I didnt want to be responsible for a class this year. We had a good time and I will be doing snacks again next year! I am posting some pics from the VBS musical. Sydney was very dramatic that night! HA! Very out of character for her in front of a large group! It was hilarious!

Sydney's 6th birthday party

I got so busy at the end of the school year I never got pics posted from Syd's birthday party! She wanted to be able to invite boys this year from her class so we had to do something that boys would like! No more dress up parties! We rented the LA Tech Bowling Alley. If you haven't been it's super nice. It's all computerized and keeps your score - I've never been good at that! It also has the cool lights. The kids had a blast and we had a good turn out! The best part about having it there is that they did everything for me - even the cake! This was the first year the KaCee didn't make Sydney's cake and I was a bit worried but it turned out really cute!

After the party we took the kids to eat at Superior in Shreveport! Syd loves to hear them sing Happy Birthday which sounds more like Hoppy Birsday! HA! It won't let me add any pics now - I'll try again later.

Sydney's dance recital

Last week was dance recital week! It is definitely a very busy week - lots of driving back and forth to Monroe - but in the end it's worth it!

The theme this year was Snow White. Sydney was an angel for that part of the production. The production is over at intermission and the rest of the tap and jazz is performed to upbeat and fun music. She was a model (?) dressed in hot pink for tap - it was my favorite!

She did great during the recital - didnt miss a beat. She loves the recital! This year was our first year to dance after intermission and it makes for a long evening. Her second dance wasn't until 10:30 and that's late for any 5 or 6 year old! Her class did a great job but there were lots of unhappy parents!

I had a hard time picking just a couple of pics so I posted LOTS!!!!

Jalyn's Birthday party

Jalyn had a "Pinkalicious" birthday party. I didn't get any pictures from the actual birthday party but the kids looked too cute all dressed in pink to miss out on this photo opportunity! It was a precious party theme if anybody needs an idea!

Syd's last day of Kindergarten

My how much she has grown since those sweet pics from the first day of Kindergarten. I'll have to find one to post for comparison. Sydney has had a terrific school experience this year. Her teacher was so sweet and soft spoken and very nurturing - just what Syd needed for her Kindergarten year. It has truly been a year to remember - so many memories created! Looking forward to next year!
